BOISE, Idaho -

Convicted felons are forbidden from having guns, but a 38-year-old Fort Hall man amassed an arsenal in 2011 — a cache of rifles and handguns that resulted in another stint behind bars.

Robert Frank Sorrell will spend 21 months in prison after his sentencing on Friday in U.S. District Court.

Back in 2006, Sorrell was convicted of methamphetamine possession — a crime punishable by a term of imprisonment exceeding one year.

Consequently, he was barred for possessing firearms.

That didn't stop him, however, from collecting at least four: A search warrant executed at Sorrell's residence on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation uncovered two .22 caliber rifles, a .357 caliber revolver, and a 12-gauge shotgun.

He pleaded guilty in July and had to give up the guns he was caught with.
