CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Newly elected Wyoming Democratic Party Chairwoman Leslie Petersen says she wants to better promote the image of the state Democratic Party.
Petersen was unopposed in being voted Wyoming's Democratic chairwoman April 18. She replaces Cheyenne ophthalmologist John Millin in the state party's head position.
Petersen says she wants to continue some of Millin's efforts, such as recruiting better Democratic candidates to run for office. She also says Wyoming Democrats have not been good about putting forth their image, allowing Republicans to characterize them differently from how they really are.
Petersen is a retired real estate agent and former Teton County commissioner who lives in Wilson.
