POCATELLO - Local News 8 is learning more about the man who has been linked to 68-year-old Jon Barrett of Pocatello who hasn't been seen in 7 months.
Wednesday Local News 8 told you about a man from Bannock County, 55-year-old Randall Toone, was arrested in February in Clark County, Nevada and has been linked to using one of Barrett's credit cards.
According to Clark County Detention Center records, Toone was arrested in February, then in April a governor's warrant was written, which means he's being held with no bail.
Barrett disappeared last November from Pocatello leaving his dogs behind and no evidence of where he was going or if he would be back.
Thursday afternoon, Lieutenant Ken Linn with the Pocatello Police Department said the investigation is on-going and active so they can't comment. He did say that many of Toone's stories have changed but the original governor's warrant for his arrest was issued out of Bonneville County.
That's where Toone is to have allegedly used Barrett's credit card after he disappeared. Linn also says that Toone is fighting extradition back to Idaho but won't say why.
Local News 8 talked to Toone's son, Captain Mark Toone of the Marine Corp., who says his father had permission to use Barrett's card. He says they were friends from their days working in the railroad in Eastern Idaho. He adds his father is innocent.
Calls to Bonneville County detectives have not been returned.
