IDAHO FALLS - A man who made the journey to Titanic's watery grave is in Idaho Falls to share his life's work.
Charles Haas has written five books about the ship. He says he was the first teacher dive two and a half miles down to the bottom of Atlantic to see the ship with his own eyes. Haas says it like nothing he's ever experienced.
In fact the most life changing experience of his life.
"All of these emotions were playing on me, a lot of curiosity. I was quite surprised by the size of the ship. Pictures don't do it justice in terms of how big it is," said Haas.
Haas will present two lectures. The first is Thursday night at seven. He will use photographs to explain what it was like to be a passenger on the voyage.
On Friday, he will discuss Titanic's discovery, artifact recovery, and recent expeditions of the wreck.
The lectures will be at the United Methodist Church next to the museum.
Tickets for each event are $5 for adults and $3 for youth, volunteers and teachers with an ID.
The event is part of the Titanic Speakers series for the Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition on display at the Museum of Idaho.
