One Killed In Vehicle Accident In Lemhi County

LEMHI COUNTY - A man was killed in a one-vehicle accident Sunday night near Williams Lake in Lemhi County.

William M. Yakovac, 38, of Salmon, was driving south on Williams Lake Road in a green 1996 Dodge Pickup, according to Idaho State Police.

For an unknown reason, the vehicle drifted off the road and crashed at the bottom of a 900 foot embankment.

The driver and his passenger, Joseph K. Hansen, 34, of Ellis, were not wearing their seatbelts and were ejected from the pickup.

ISP was called around 11 p.m. Emergency crews airlifted Yakovac to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. Hansen died in the crash.

Law enforcement are still investigating the accident and do not know if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
