DUBOIS - Idahoan Foods LLC is closing down its potato flake plant in Dubois and reopening its Idaho Falls plant.
In a letter to Clark County Commissioners, Idahoan Foods says it will close the plant some time this summer. It anticipates the closure by July 25 or until the potato supply is exhausted. The company says it will reopen the Idaho Falls plant by September 1, 2009. The Idaho Falls plant closed in July 2007.
There are about 140 employees at the Dubois plant. The company says it will try to transfer all of the employees to the Idaho Falls plant or the Lewisville plant.
Drew Facer, Vice President of Retail and Food Service, says the Idahoan brand continues to be strong and has sustained growth.
