AMMON - Local News 8 was on a moose chase Friday morning after one was spotted behind Edwards Theater in Ammon.

Idaho Fish and Game tranquilized the moose and put him in a trailer to haul him away. One viewer captured video of the moose being placed into a trailer.

A Fish and Game employee had his daughter take a picture with the tranqualized yearling.

For those living in the Ammon neighborhood, seeing a moose in the middle of town made for a very interesting way to start the day.

Some who saw the moose told our crew it was at least 8' long and nearly 7' tall. Fish and Game transported the animal to the Fall Creek Area near Swan Valley.

Officials said this isn't unusual this time of year. Each spring, yearlings are sent off on their own and often end up confused trying to figure out where they belong.
