POCATELLO - A California couple's vacation is cut short as their motor home swerved off Interstate 15 Monday afternoon.  Both the motor home and the brand new car it was towing rolled in the crash.

Idaho State Police said the couple was on their way up north when their RV clipped a sign by the Pocatello Creek exit.   Police believe the driver fell asleep. He overcorrected and started fishtailing out of control.

The motor home acted like a dog's wagging tail and spun the new Buick it was towing into the opposite side of the interstate.

Police said if anyone else was driving on the road at the time, there would most likely have been more injured people. Since the accident happened around 3 p.m., it saved people who are normally in the rush hour traffic.

The road was limited to one lane for a good amount of time, slowing up the traffic on the southbound lane of I-15.

The two people inside the motor home were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver will receive a citation for failure to maintain a lane and will have to pay the Idaho Transportation Department for a new exit sign.
