Driver of Minivan Dies, Crashed Into Deputy's Car

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - The Ada County coroner says an airman, whose minivan collided with a sheriff vehicle in a crash that killed the deputy, has also died.

KTVB is reporting that Capt. Mark Zampogna, 39, died Saturday at a Boise hospital from injuries suffered in a July 6 crash on U.S. Highway 95 near Tamarack.

The crash killed 35-year-old deputy, Monte "Leroy" Matthews of New Meadows and injured Zampogna's wife and two children.
