BONNEVILLE COUNTY - A two-car accident is slowing down traffic near the intersection of Yellowstone & Hitt/25th East Monday just before 10 a.m.

One woman was taken to the hospital by ambulance with suspected head injuries.

According to the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office, A red Ford Expedition was heading east on Yellowstone Highway/Highway 26 behind another car. As they approached Hitt Road, the car in front of it went through the intersection and a white Toyota started to turn onto Yellowstone toward Idaho Falls.

The driver of the SUV said they tried to stop but couldn't avoid hitting the Toyota. Both cars hit a traffic light pole.

The family in the Expedition were walking around and appeared to be fine. They will be heading to the hospital as a precaution.

The man driving the white car did not appear to be hurt. He was cited with failure to yield. The woman in the passenger seat had to be extricated. She was the only one transported to the hospital by emergency crews.
