Campbell County saw biggest year end job growth

Associated Press - August 2, 2009 2:15 PM ET

GILLETE, Wyo. (AP) - State officials say Campbell County is beginning to see an increase in unemployment since it saw the biggest job growth of any other county in Wyoming at the end of last year.

Department of Employment senior economist David Bullard says Campbell County's job outlook for the first quarter of 2009 is not as bright as last year. A Department of Employment report released last week showed that in the fourth quarter of 2008 Campbell County had 2,224 more jobs than in the same quarter of 2007.

The increase was the biggest seen by any county in the state. Natrona County had the second largest increase with 1,071 jobs.
