POWELL, Wyo. (AP) - Contractors building subdivisions in Powell must install fiber-optic lines along with the usual infrastructure, such as sewers.

The Powell City Council recently amended a city ordinance that will require developers to install telecommunication distribution systems. That includes all hardware, equipment and wiring.

Last spring, a citywide fiber network called Powellink was completed. It allows every household and business in town to have access to the system if they choose.
