Natrona Co. cuts trailer park's power

Associated Press - September 3, 2009 7:05 AM ET

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Natrona County cut power this week to a trailer park near Alcova Lake because many trailer don't meet electrical or propane codes.

Natrona County Development Director Blair Leist says the county notified the owner of Strickland Mobile Home Court about the violations in May and gave him 60 days to fix the problems.

He says the trailer park is a fire hazard because 19 of the trailers have electrical or propane problems.

Tenants of the trailer park are now looking for new living arrangements because their homes are inhabitable without power.

County commissioners say tenants will be allowed to return if the landlord can bring the trailers up to code.
