BASIN, Wyo. (AP) - A former Greybull man has pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor poaching charge and no contest to three more.
Gary Vorhies, 47, was accused of killing a palmated deer in Big Horn County in violation of hunting rules nine years ago. Fifth District Judge Tom Harrington ordered Vorhies to serve 321 days in jail and to pay $10,000 restitution and $17,000 in fines. Vorhies will be under four years of supervised probation as well.
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department brought the poaching allegations after finding photos of Vorhies with slain deer in a photo album while investigating another case.
