Tokyo financial executive learning from Wyo bank

Associated Press - September 22, 2009 6:05 PM ET

POWELL, Wyo. (AP) - One Japanese financial publication is curious how banking is conducted in rural Wyoming.

Last week, an official with a Japanese financial publishing house visited Powell in northern Wyoming to interview First National Bank and Trust President Dick Nelson for an article in a Japanese financial publication.

Nelson says the interview centered on banking in small-town America and the culture of community banks.

Nelson is the third generation of his family at the helm of the Powell bank.
