SHERIDAN, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is renaming an access area on Lake DeSmet in honor of former U.S. Sen. Malcolm Wallop.
Lake DeSmet is about 15 miles north of Buffalo. A dedication ceremony is set for 11 a.m. Friday at Sheridan College.
The Game and Fish Department says Wallop played an important role in legislation that has helped restore populations of sport fish nationwide.
Wallop served in the Senate from 1977 to 1995.
