Fifteen people are looking to fill an open magistrate judge's seat in the Bannock County Courthouse. A list of applicants was released Tuesday by the Trial Courts administrator. 13 people from Pocatello submitted their applications, along two others out of Bingham and Power County.
Evaluation questionnaires will now be sent to attorneys statewide to help determine who will replace Hon. Robert C. Naftz. Naftz was just appointed a District Judge to replace Peter McDermott.
The Magistrate Commission will meet November 19, 2009 to select the final candidate.
