COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah (AP) - Police say a teen has suffered life-threatening injuries after falling through a skylight on the roof of a vacant elementary school in Cottonwood Heights.
Beau Babka of the Cottonwood Heights Police Department says two 16-year-olds skipped class at Brighton High School on Tuesday, then climbed to the roof of the former Cottonwood Heights Elementary School across the street.
The Salt Lake Tribune reported on its Web site Tuesday that 1 of the boys stepped on a skylight in the roof and broke through. He landed headfirst in a kitchen preparation area 15 feet below.
He was flown by medical helicopter to a hospital with critical injuries to his head and upper body.
