RUPERT, Idaho (AP) - A southern Idaho county that doesn't have the money to hire a consultant to help set land use, housing and public services goals will instead get help from a college student who is doing the job for free as part of her school internship.
Idaho State University graduate student Felicia Poteet, who is studying public administration, will serve as consultant to a Minidoka County citizens committee.
The Minidoka County/City of Rupert Comprehensive Plan was last revised in 2000 and the county hired a consultant to oversee the project.
But Minidoka County Community Development Director Paul Aston tells The Times-News that the county doesn't have the money to hire a consultant this time.
