EASTERN IDAHO - Alltel stores in Idaho Falls, Blackfoot and Burley are no more. Starting Tuesday, Verizon Wireless completed the conversion of the stores with re-merchandising and re-branding. The billing system has also been updated to reflect they are Verizon customers.

This transition comes 10 months after Verizon purchased Alltel.

This makes it so former Alltel customers can go to any Verizon Wireless store in the county for sales and services. They can also create an online account to pay their bills and receive service.

Verizon Wireless is working to upgrade and reconfigure Alltel cell sites to work with theirs.

Verizon Wireless has spent more than $200 million on network enhancements throughout Idaho since 2000 when the company was formed.
