Associated Press - October 22, 2009 7:35 AM ET

DUBOIS, Wyo. (AP) - A group of fourth, fifth and sixth graders from Fremont County learned how to shock, tag, and track different kinds of trout during a recent field trip.

The field trip to the Dubois Town Park was put on by Wyoming Game and Fish and also Trout Unlimited. The kids learned about trout habitats, and how to put tracking devices on the fish.

The kids used radio direction finders to track their tagged fish.

Aquatic Habitat Biologist Nick Scribner it's a good thing to get kids involved with the work of fisheries and habitat biologists and teaching kids about fish movements and different habitats.

Cory Toye of Trout Unlimited the field trip helps identify future projects and teaches kids a little about the fish.
