LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - When it comes to college basketball recruiting, Wyoming isn't in the same league with the likes of Kansas, North Carolina and Florida - until now.
San Diego Hoover High School star center Angelo Chol is considering Wyoming despite being recruited by Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgetown, Kansas, North Carolina, UCLA, Washington and other big name schools.
Chol's high school coach, Ollie Goulston, says his 6-foot-9 junior center is still considering Wyoming because he knows UW player JayDee Luster.
Chol has been listed among the Top 20 recruits in the country by several scouting services.
In his sophomore year, he averaged 12.8 points, 13.2 rebounds and 9.6 blocks per game.
Goulston cautioned that it is still early in the recruiting process before Chol signs a national letter-of-intent.
