GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) - An Australian company that wants to mine uranium northeast of Gillette has purchased a historic drilling database of the area.
Peninsula Minerals Limited paid $1 million for the "Moorcroft Database" that contains geologic maps and technical drilling reports completed in the 1970s and 1980s and that's based on more than 5,000 drilling sites.
Ur-Energy, based in Littleton, Colo., in a press release says it sold the database.
Peninsula Minerals holds mineral rights on about 23,000 acres in the area.
