More swine flu vaccine arrives in Wyoming

Associated Press - October 27, 2009 3:35 PM ET

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Another 8,000 doses of swine flu vaccine are being distributed around Wyoming.

The Wyoming Department of Health says the latest shipments are arriving Tuesday. The federal government ships the vaccines directly to county health departments and other local health offices.

Wyoming has received 24,000 vaccine doses in the past three weeks. State health department spokeswoman Kim Deti (DEE'-teye) says the state has been ordering the maximum amount it's eligible for.

Deti says the state had hoped to get more of the vaccine more quickly, but production of the vaccine has been slower than expected.

Around the state, local health departments are making plans for administering the latest round of vaccine this week.
