BLACKFOOT - It's no secret that when we're trying to save money, going to the movies isn't always an option.  But the Plaza Twin Theater in Blackfoot has new releases and ticket prices no more than $7 a person.  Even with cheap prices, the theatre could be in danger of closing the doors.

Clive and Audrey Randall say if there is a good movie they want to see, they'll come to the Plaza Twin Theater in Blackfoot.

"We need some entertainment in Blackfoot.  We don't have enough of it for anyone," said Clive Randall, movie watcher.

The Randalls have lived in Blackfoot their whole lives and say they don't want to drive to Pocatello or Idaho Falls to see a blockbuster hit.  So the news that not many do the same is upsetting.

"I think it's sad.  The guy has tried very hard to make this an appealing place and it looks very nice.  I think he's doing a tremendous job in here," said Randall.

The guy doing all the work is owner Mark May.  He took over the theatre February 1, 2008, the same day it was to close down.   He says lately things are very slow.

"Not enough people are coming out to the theatre right now.  We have some good movies out but its not quite enough to keep it going," said May, Plaza Twin Theater Owner.

To attract more people, May has been putting in hours on end to make the theater more appealing.

"I put in new seats with cup holders, new projectors, new sound system, and went from mono to surround sound.  So it's a huge upgrade," said May.

Concession prices are where May makes his money to pay the bills.  He says he keeps his prices low so people can afford it.

"It's very lean and very day by day if we, for us, because of the limited number of people we have here, whether we stay open or not.  We're always in danger of it simply because we pay a lot for our lease but we're not making a lot," said May.

For movie goers like the Randalls, they hope people realize what a gem is in their backyard.  "I hope more people come and look at it," said Randall.

The Plaza Twin Theater in Blackfoot has two screens and is open Monday through Saturday.  Beginning this Saturday, they'll have tickets on sale for the new Twilight movie, New Moon.  They'll have shows beginning at midnight on November 20th.
