LAVA HOT SPRINGS - Lava Hot Springs has been chosen as one of the two U.S. pools to attend a world conference.
Next week, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Mark Lowe, will be representing the hot pools in China.
At the conference, they'll be discussing how to improve the industry, developing more hot springs for more people to use.
This means more tourism worldwide will be coming to our local hot pools.
The trip is all paid for by the conference, all they need to do is give a talk about what they have done with our local pools.
Lowe said the biggest benefit of the trip is gaining relationships with other people nationally and in other parts of the world.
"We'll see more and more people coming to not only lava hot springs, but other parts of Southeast Idaho in particular," said Mark Lowe, Executive Director of Lava Hot Springs Foundation.
The other U. S. hot spot attending the conference is Hot Springs Arkansas.
Every year more than 160,000 people visit Lava Hot Springs.
