BLACKFOOT - The demand for the H1N1 vaccine continues to run high around the nation, and Eastern Idaho is no different.
Thursday, more than a thousand people packed into the LDS Stake Center on Riverton Road in Blackfoot for their chance receive the highly coveted vaccine.
"We had more than 45 people waiting in line at seven (Thursday) morning and I think by 9:30 we had already given out over a hundred numbers," said Craig Rowland with Bingham County Emergency Services.
Patients received tickets with numbers on them and waited in the cultural hall until their names were called.
While waiting, most parents filled out paperwork, while their children played.
"It's a madhouse here with all the kids," said Lori Register of Blackfoot.
Once the numbers were called, patients submitted paperwork, and waiting in a line down the hallway before finally arriving at a smaller gymnasium to receive their vaccine.
"We've been here for two hours, but it's definitely worth the wait if we're going to get the vaccination," said Jody Hogan, who came from Pocatello to get the vaccine with her 4 year-old daughter.
Others agreed waiting was worthwhile to receive the vaccine.
"Most definitely because now I don't have to worry about the disease, and I'll just have to worry about maybe a fever or something like that," said David Martin of Blackfoot whose three kids all received the vaccine Thursday.
Officials say all 1,685 vaccines were given out Thursday.
Bingham County will hold another H1N1 clinic in Aberdeen on Tuesday November 10 where 600 vaccines will be given out. The clinic is scheduled to be held at the Aberdeen Elementary School at 4:00 p.m.
The school is located at 382 E. Washington Avenue in Aberdeen.
