IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) - A prominent state and national Republican activist and former member of the state Board of Education has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor stalking.

Blake Hall, 56, of Idaho Falls, entered the plea in 7th District Court Friday.

Hall is a national committeeman for Idaho on the Republican National Committee, a former state party chairman and has worked as a civil attorney for the Bonneville County Attorney. He also served as a trustee on the board of education until stepping down in April.

Police began investigating allegations in September that Hall was harassing a former girlfriend. That same month, a judge issued a protection order, barring Hall from getting within 900 feet of the woman.
