BONNEVILLE Co. - We may have a couple months to go, but already this holiday season it's all about the sales!

Shopper Melanie Bunce is out early this season with her kids, gravitating toward the red tags - sales!

"You're saving money, even if it's a couple of dollars."

It's the golden word for retailers this holiday season.

"We know there is not a lot of money and people are going to want to buy those gifts and get those special items for their families so we want to provide those for the guests," said Target's Senior Team Lead, Holly Shanklin.

"We want to be first on their lists when they do their holiday shopping," added Walmart Store Manager, Jason Neville.

But winning shoppers' dollars will be tougher this year. According to a National Retail Federation survey, consumers are expected to spend 3.2% less this holiday season, giving shops a good reason to start rolling back the prices now.

"We know that times are tough right now," said Shanklin. "We want to give the opportunity for guests to get whatever products they need at a great price."

"Right now is a great time to do your Christmas shopping," said Neville. "There's not tons of people in the stores and a lot of people might want to just get it over with early."

But are consumers buying it?

"I don't think we'll be purchasing more but we can purchase a little wiser to get a better deal," said shopper Tony Hathaway.

"It's nice to see the sales and the decorations get you in the Christmas spirit and spending money," said Bunce.

With four kids to shop for, Bunce is hoping to build her Christmas off of the red tags.

"If we get a sale then it allows us to get a little extra money to go towards another present, instead of two presents they'll get maybe three or four."

It's Bunce's kind of attitude local retailers are hoping to see now, and all the way up until Christmas.

Some other local shops offering holiday prices now include Sears, which is offering "Black Friday Now" sales every Saturday morning until after Christmas. You can also find early deals at Toys 'R' Us, offering it's "Biggest Big Book" of Toys this year with savings up to $5,500.
