REXBURG - The Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the 1st Annual Veteran's Day Ceremony in Rexburg. The Upper Snake River Valley Veteran's Freedom Memorial was recently built at Smith Park, giving Upper Valley residents an opportunity to honor those who have served in past and present wars.

The event will take place on Veteran's Day, November 11, 2009. It will be held at Smith Park at 12:00 p.m.

This is the first year this type of celebration is being put together in Rexburg.  The Veteran's Day Ceremony will include:

  • Legacy Flight Museum plane fly over during the ceremony
  • 4th grade writing contest, "What does Veteran's Day mean to me?"
  • 21 gun salute and cannon by the BYU-Idaho Army ROTC

The Chamber of Commerce hopes the event will give the community a chance to come together during a time of remembrance for those who have fought for our county.
