BONNEVILLE COUNTY - A man involved in an accident in 2006 was awarded nearly $2 million for his lawsuit against the driver of a dump truck.
On October 4, 2006 Levon Babakhanian was riding his motorcycle in Bonneville County when he crashed into a dump truck. The driver was William Edgington who worked for Cedar Point Construction.
The attorneys for Babakhanian contended that Edgington ran a stop sign, thus causing the crash.
Babakhanian was severely injured with a fractured left leg, fractured pelvis, fractured left hip and multiple hand, arm and face injuries.
The jury attributed 80 percent of the fault of the crash to the defendants and 20 percent to the plaintiff. They said Babakhanian suffered a loss of past and future medical expenses of $441,000, lost earning capacity of $580,000, past and future pain and suffering in the amount of $795,000 and the loss of his motorcycle $10,000. The total award was $1,826,000.
According to Babakhanian's lawyer, Allen Browning of Curtis and Browning Law Office, Babakhanian will suffer lifetime disabilities from the crash.
