Riders Brave Snowy Weather for Turkey Run in Pocatello

POCATELLO - Despite the snowy and cold weather we saw around most of the day Saturday, some die hard motorcycle riders didn't let it bother them.

Nearly 100 riders took part in the annual Turkey Run in Pocatello to benefit the veterans at the Idaho State Veterans Home.

Before taking to the snowy streets of the Gate City, riders gathered at Pocatello Cycle.  The snow did keep some riders inside warm cars, driving rather than riding motorcycles.

Each rider paid $10 and all of the money goes back to buy holiday meals for the veterans.

"If we didn't have the vets up there on the hill, we wouldn't be here today.  Our freedom stands on the veterans of this country.  And we believe as bikers and as a biker club, we believe in the veterans of the United States,” said Howard Moir, a Turkey Run rider.

If you didn't get a chance to take part in the ride Saturday afternoon but you still want to make a donation for the veterans you can stop by Pocatello Cycle at 260 Yellowstone Avenue in Pocatello anytime Tuesday to make your donation.
