EASTERN IDAHO – The Better Business Bureau is investigating a sales company that is going door-to-door selling home and personal security systems.
The company's name is Axis Protection Incorporated. The salesperson says they are a company based out of Meridian and have an office in Chubbuck.
The BBB has researched both addresses provided and have discovered they are non-existent locations.
In Chubbuck, the company says it is located on Hershey Loop. The BBB says the physical address does not exist. The mailing address in Meridian turned out to be a drop box while the physical location on Piazza Street is a vacant lot.
The company's website, www.getaxisprotection.com, also has a BBB logo on it. The BBB said the logo used is one that has been discontinued and states Axis is not a member of the organization or an Accredited Business.
The BBB also tried to find the license for Axis Protection that listed the Meridian address. The principals listed were Daniel and Charles Burrup.
The BBB proceeded to call Meridian's city clerk office to find out if the company had proper licenses to do business in Bannock and Bingham County. The answer: the company had no business licenses on file.
Axis Protection is working with a company by the name of Monitronics International, Inc. to monitor the systems that they are installing. Per the BBB reliability report on Monitronics they are currently rated a C, with 858 complaints in the last 36 months.
