SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Filmmakers from around Utah are rushing to put the finishing touches on entries for a contest advertising the state as the perfect destination to film a movie.
The 30 second commercials generate a modest $1,500 cash prize for the winners, but it's not the money most are after.
The spots will saturate Park City during the Sundance Film Festival, creating an opening for the winners to mingle with Hollywood's biggest movers and shakers.
Meanwhile, the cash-strapped state gets creative work done at bargain prices while also developing local talent as it looks to lure more major productions to Utah with new tax incentives.
The contest deadline is Dec. 2.
