SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A Thanksgiving dinner for the homeless in Salt Lake City will feature food primarily produced in Utah.
The Rescue Mission of Salt Lake is hosting the dinner on Wednesday.
Much of the food is being donated by local companies like Utah Farms, a dairy cooperative based in Delta. Other food will be purchased from donations collected earlier in the year.
Organizers expect about 1,000 homeless and low-income residents to attend the annual meal. Attendance is expected to be higher than usual because of the economic downturn.
Food will be served as the Rescue Mission from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
