POCATELLO - If you enjoy gingerbread houses and want to help out a great cause, the 4th annual Gingerbread Bake-Off is going on right now in Old Town Pocatello.
It's all happening at the U.S. Bank on Arthur Avenue. All the proceeds go to benefit the Gateway Habitat for Humanity in the Gate City.
There are over 70 houses on display varying in sizes from small ones that children built all the way to some that are huge. Awards have been handed out for landscaping, best in show, best use of candy and more.
Organizers say they were glad to keep this annual event going. "There were some debates if we were going to be able to put this event on this year but we really wanted to do it for the community. We wanted to make sure that all of these events, because this goes back a lot more years to cottages and cranberries and other events in the area, so we just wanted to keep the tradition going," said Karl Belzer, Habitat of Humanity Board Member.
If you haven't had the chance to check out all the fun yet at the gingerbread bake off, you still have time. The event continues until 8 p.m. Saturday night at U.S. Bank at 120 North Arthur in Old Town Pocatello.
