Preparing for things like terrorist attacks, natural-disasters of even wildfires is not usually a fun activity to prepare for, but the staff at the Idaho State University Institute of Rural Health is taking a fun approach.
This morning at ISU's Pocatello campus as well as other distance learning sites throughout the state of Idaho. People had a chance to take part in a presentation via smart classrooms to have an upbeat perspective on disaster preparedness as well as realistic planning and response ideas. The presentation was all part of national preparedness month in a nationwide effort to encourage Americans to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies in health care facilities, homes, businesses and schools.
"Brings a different point of view about emergency preparedness. She talks about how you can enjoy getting prepared and that it doesn't have to be scary and that it actually can be fun" said Barbara J. Cunningham, project coordinator.
