Idaho State Police Applauded For Their Sex Offender Website

Idaho State Police, or ISP, have been handed an excellent review for their online Sex Offender Registry, or SOR, from TopTenReviews.com.

The website's reviewer praised the registry by saying it clearly identified violent sexual predators, had an exceptional mapping function and it made it easy for searches.

They also noted how well ISP labeled profiles, posted large pictures of the offenders and had complete describes and offense information for each one.

"We are gratified to learn of this honor," said ISP Director Jerry Russell, "...especially as the improvements pointed to are the results of a recent major revamping of our website.  It is our objective to make our SOR website a location where concerned citizens can easily access information about the registered offenders in their neighborhoods," he said.  "In doing so, we better equip parents to be informed and take those steps necessary to safeguard their children."
"Colonel Russell and the folks at the ISP are doing great work informing our citizens," Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter said. "Our goal is always to give individual Idahoans the tools they need to protect their families and keep our communities safe."

Ahead of Idaho in the review were Florida, Arizona, Washington, Texas and Indiana, putting Idaho in 6th place.
