The man who admitted to killing a 7-year-old Utah girl is no stranger to the victim.

Wednesday afternoon during a press conference, the South Salt Lake Police Department said when little Hser Na Moo left her apartment Monday afternoon she went straight to the apartment of Esar Met, 21. Police say she had been to that apartment before but officers  did not know if she was invited or went over to Met's on her own.

In a statement of probable cause, Met admitted to keeping the girl in the apartment by force. Police revealed Hser was killed in the basement apartment where signs of an altercation were found. Met had hid her body in the bathroom. He is now charged with aggravated murder and child kidnapping. He has no previous criminal background.

Police believe Met is a refugee who has lived in the U.S. for about 30 days and was rooming with 4 other men who are also believed to be refugees. Met's roommates were taken into custody and released Tuesday. Police say they were not home at the time of the killing.

Police say there was some trauma to Hser's body but are not releasing any other information. An initial autopsy has been done but the full autopsy results will take 6 to 8 weeks.

The body of Hser Nay Moo was found Tuesday, almost 30 hours after she disappeared from her family's apartment. The body was in the last apartment authorities searched in the same complex. During their first sweep, no one was home to allow police in. At 7:00 pm Tuesday night, someone was home and let the police search the apartment. That's when Hser was found in the bathroom.

Hundreds of people searched for Hser, whose family settled in Utah last summer. They are natives of Myanmar, also known as Burma.

Candles, stuffed bears and flowers were placed at the apartment complex Wednesday. In a reference to the search, handmade signs said, "You're never so lost that angels can't find you."
