The man and the woman charged in the case of the 10-year-old St. Anthony girl who gave birth this month were at the Fremont County Courthouse Tuesday. Both of their hearings were continued.
Guadalupe Gutierrez-Juarez is charged with three counts of rape. He is accused of raping the girl late last year around the same time the young girl became pregnant.
He was set to have a preliminary hearing Tuesday morning. It has been continued until June 24 at 10:00 a.m.
His girlfriend, Isabel Chasarez, 27, of St. Anthony, was arrested and charged Friday with child endangerment.
According to court documents, she didn't take the 10-year-old to receive prenatal care.
Her hearing was also continued to an unknown date.
At Tuesday's hearings were several members of the local Hispanic community. They attended church with the suspects. They told Local News 8 they are shocked by the case and say it puts a horrible name on Hispanics.
For now, the young victim and her baby are in the state's custody.
