After 13 drunken driving offenses, a Pocatello woman has been sentenced to spend at least the next six years in prison.

Julie Marie Patrick 44, was convicted Monday for a single-vehicle crash that happened earlier this year in Pocatello. She ran a red light and broadsided a car. The passenger in that vehicle sustained internal injuries. Patrick's blood alcohol level was .391. The legal limit is .08.

Patrick asked 6th District Judge Peter McDermott if her sentence could be a probation and alcohol treatment. The judge however said in order to protect society in this case, prison was necessary.
