A former Fremont County deputy was sentenced Tuesday for stealing money and prescription drugs from the sheriff's office.
Bradley Holjeson, 25, was sentenced to five years probation and 60 days in jail. He will also have to pay back the money he took.
The sheriff's office became suspicious of Holjeson when they noticed some bail bond money was missing. Sheriff Ralph Davis said soon after they began investigating, it became clear someone in the office was responsible for the theft. He then discovered prescription narcotics were also missing.
A new development was presented during Tuesday's sentencing hearing. Holjeson had moved to Ada County earlier this year. There he was charged and pleaded guilty to filling prescription drugs illegally.
The question of where Holjeson will be serving his sentence is unknown. The judge left it up to Sheriff Davis to decide if he will grant Holjeson's request to serve in the Ada County Jail or if he will be serving his time in a Fremont County cell.
