DRIGGS - The Teton County Fire Protection District believes a baseboard heater malfunction is what caused a two-story log house to catch fire Friday morning.

Firefighters say the blaze started around 10am at a home at 517 Fox Creek Hollow Road in Driggs, near the Driggs-Victor border.

No one was home at the time of the blaze but the family who owns the home did come home after the fire started.

Firefighters say most of the second floor was burned but the log home is still standing and is not a complete loss.  The family is not staying in the home.

There was supposed to be a birthday party for the 4-year-old little girl who lives in the home but all her presents were burned.

Firefighters with Teton County Fire Protection District put on a party at their department and donated a check to the family.
