BINGHAM COUNTY - A recent Hillcrest High School graduate was killed in a rollover accident Sunday morning on Interstate 15.

Idaho State Police identified the victim as Brycen Blackburn, 18, of Idaho Falls. Bonneville School District said they are offering grief counseling to students.

The accident happened on Interstate 15 near Blackfoot. Blackburn was heading north in a 1990 Toyota 4-Runner when around 4:15 a.m., he went off the left shoulder of the road.

Police said he over-corrected and went off the right shoulder. Then he over-corrected again and crossed to the left shoulder rolling the vehicle.

The SUV came to a stop on its top on the southbound median shoulder. ISP is still investigating the crash.

This is the second deadly accident involving a teenager from the Idaho Falls area in less than a week.

Thursday night, Christin Shawver, 16, was a passenger in a 1987 Toyota 4-Runner when the 17-year-old driver lost control on Milligan Road in Idaho Falls.

The SUV rolled, Shawver was ejected and the car rolled on top of her.

She was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver was. He was not seriously hurt.

Some of Blackburn's friends started a Facebook group in his memory. There, they are sharing photos and memories of their friend.
