IDAHO FALLS - Flu vaccines are starting to arrive at the area's local health departments and the Eastern Idaho Public Health district (District 7) and the Southeastern District Health District have set a schedule for each county.
The H1N1 flu vaccine will be provided for free at the clinics, but will be targeted to those at the highest risk of complications from the H1N1 flu. They include:
- Pregnant women (EIPHD will be providing the H1N1 vaccine to Obstetricians in the district so they may vaccinate their pregnant clients)
- Household contacts and caregivers for children younger than 6 months of age
- Healthcare and emergency medical services personnel
- All people from 6 months to 24 years of age
- Persons aged 25 through 64 years who have health conditions associated with higher risk of complications from the flu.
Note: All vaccination clinic dates and times are subject to vaccine availability. Furthermore, there is limited vaccine available for each clinic. Vaccinations will be given on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.

The Health Districts suggests checking their website to confirm the date as well as to download the patient forms needed for the clinic. You can go to www.idaho.gov/phd7 or http://www.sdhdidaho.org/ .
They say as additional shipments of vaccines arrive, they will be scheduling additional H1N1 flu vaccination clinics. Once people in the priority group have received their vaccinations, they encourage everyone who wants to reduce their chances of being infected with the H1N1 flu to get vaccinated.
Healthcare providers and Emergency Medical Services personnel will be notified where they can get their vaccination over the next few days.
