Flu Related Death Reported at Hillcrest High School

BONNEVILLE COUNTY - A student at Hillcrest High School in Ammon died Sunday after they were taken to the hospital with flu-life symptoms, according the Eastern Idaho Public Health District.

Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls said the 15 year old was in respiratory arrest when admitted Oct. 15.

H1N1 test results are pending. A definitive cause of death will be stated after an autopsy has been conducted.

A Bonneville County woman in her 50s was also reported as a flu-related death. The health department is waiting for test results to determine if she had the H1N1 virus.

Over the same weekend, two male patients passed away, a 43 year old from Bingham County and a 61 year old from Bonneville County, according to EIRMC. Both tested positive for H1N1.
