AMMON - The new addition to the Twilight saga, New Moon, has made a killing in the theaters. Already, it's surpassed the likes of Harry Potter, Batman, and even it's first movie Twilight. But this success in the theaters extends beyond the box office.

"It just makes you really excited and makes you feel like a little kid again," said movie-goer, Melody Van Dusen.

It's this anticipation that is keeping local theaters flooding.

"Going to New Moon tonight! I'm so excited!"

But the crowd is spilling over. The opening of New Moon doesn't just benefit the box office, the wealth is shared with local restaurants.

"People will be sitting in that movie theater for 2 and a half, three hours and they get hungry," said Cafe Rio regional manager, Pilar Sorenson.

Server at Sol Rio, Brenda Acosta added, "Usually when those types of movies come out we get a lot more people coming in, especially around 7 or 8 at night."

Servers at Sol Rio prepared for the premiere by adding new specials to their menus to coincide with the New Moon opening.

"For instance: today and tomorrow, and the next day, all the kids eat for 99 cents, so it brings more people in," said Acosta.

Restaurants look forward to the business New Moon will create this weekend.

"With everybody going to the movie that helps the theater and then as well as our location people are coming more over here, so it's selling more food, the waitresses are getting more tips," said Acosta.

"You know, obviously it's been all over the news and everybody know it's coming out when they're really well anticipated, so we'll take that into consideration," added Sorenson.

Big movies mean big crowds. Cafe Rio has seen more traffic since the movie made it's debut.

"It's just one of those things where we'll feed off of the people in the line and we start moving faster and we get more excited," said Sorenson.

With a spot right next to the theater, every time something as big as New Moon comes to town, restaurants are ready and eager to serve movie-goers.
