Adam "Lee" Meacham pleaded not guilty Monday in Carbon County District Court to felony first-degree sexual assault and third-degree sexual assault. He also pleaded not guilty to six felony counts of immoral or indecent acts, as well as some misdemeanors. Meacham is free on a $75,000 bond.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A Cheyenne man who police say shook his 7-month-old daughter after her crying disrupted his video game playing has been charged with felony aggravated child abuse responsible for physical injury. Twenty-1-year-old Robert T. Scott was charged Monday in Laramie County Circuit Court. Police say the girl is being treated at Children's Hospital in Denver.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The Cheyenne city attorney present at a city council closed meeting that has come under scrutiny for possibly being illegal says nothing improper took place. Dan White on Monday issued a written statement saying there was nothing illegal or improper about the Jan. 11 closed session called to update council members on ongoing lawsuits and settlement negotiations. A leaked e-mail obtained by the Wyoming Tribune Eagle appears to show a discussion about the city's budget and layoffs.

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - An environmental group says the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service improperly failed to make a decision about protecting the rare pygmy rabbit in eight Western states, including Wyoming. Western Watersheds Project's lawsuit wants the agency to make a decision on whether to grant endangered species protection to the tiny rabbits.
