IDAHO FALLS, Idaho - This month is Atrial Fibrillation, also known as A-Fib, Awareness month. EIRMC is holding an open house for their clinic that helps those diagnosed with the condition.
A-Fib is an irregular heartbeat which causes poor blood flow. The clinic specializes in outpatient care for those recently diagnosed. It's actually pretty common but can sometimes be detrimental.
The open house will include a guest speaker, free screening and a chance to meet the clinicians.
They say it's a great addition to the community.
"We found a need for the community with discharging patients from the hospital and not being managed by a healthcare provider and often they would be directed to go back to their primary care physician," says Brandi Smith, Nurse Practitioner
The open house is tomorrow at 6 p.m. The clinic is located in the "Wellness Center" which is in the "Medical Office Building," suite 115 on 2860 Channing Way.
