New York Comic-Con served up some fan-pleasing news this weekend, as it was announced that Clark Gregg's Agent Phil Coulson will be on Joss Whedon's "S.H.I.E.L.D." TV series.
Although it appeared that Gregg's Agent Coulson didn't have anything to look forward to after this year's "The Avengers" movie, it turns out he does.
"We all love Clark Gregg, there's no doubt about that," Whedon said, according to Comic Book Resources. "From before we made 'The Avengers,' we discussed whether there was a way for him to be a part of the Marvel universe, perhaps a part of a TV show after his death. ... He's headlining the S.H.I.E.L.D. show and always was."
It's unclear how Agent Coulson's story arc in "The Avengers" will impact his return in the ABC show, which the network announced a pilot order for in August. But "for those who are concerned Coulson's return won't be bada** & work [with 'The Avengers']," Gregg tweeted Sunday, "[you] are one silly damn rabbit."
